REV. ROBERT J. MILLER

Fr. Bob was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1950, studied in seminaries in Wisconsin and New York, obtaining the degrees of BA, M.R.E. and M.Div. He professed vows as a Redemptorist in 1970, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1976.  While Associate Pastor in Davenport, Iowa (1977-1981), he co-ordinated sacramental programs, was Director of Religious Education, and was a member of the Charismatic Renewal Commission of the Davenport Diocese.

From 1981-1988, he was a member of the Redemptorist Mission Team in Chicago, preaching missions and parish renewals around the country. In 1986, he graduated from the Pecos School for Charismatic Spiritual Directors.  Fr. Bob has worked with Marriage Encounter and charismatic renewal, continuing to do retreat work, missions and celebrating healing and charismatic Masses in the area. 

In 1990, following a leave of absence for purposes of study and discernment, Fr. Bob officially joined the Archdiocese of Chicago. He began ministering in Chicago's south-side, where he was Associate Pastor at St. Joachim from 1990-1995.  Presently he is Co‑Pastor at Holy Angels Church. He teaches in the Deacon & Lay Ministry Formation programs of the Archdiocese, and is the founder and Chairman of Genesis Housing Development Corporation, a faith-based group building affordable housing on Chicago’s south-side.   

Fr Bob has written 3 books: Finding Your Place in the Universe; GriefQuest - Reflections for Men Coping With Loss ; and his newest book Falling into Faith (November 2000).  He enjoys jogging & walking, piano-playing, Civil War history, and computer games.
